If time is money then time spent hiking must be gold, for the biggest value for your time try hiking the Bear Lake Area Loop on this guided hiking tour with REI. Starting from the Bear Lake Trailhead, the route turns counter-clockwise and offers surprises and delights with each mile. As the route brings you towards Dream Lake it rewards hikers with jaw-dropping views of Hallet Peak and Flattop Mountain. As challenging as the hiking itself is tearing your eyes off of each breathtaking view, we can’t spend too much time in any one place, there’s more to see around every corner! Not far after Dream Lake the trail crosses over Chaos Creek then forks at the Haiyaha Lake cut-off. Here, trust your guide and make the small detour to Haiyaha Lake. As you hike along your guide will share insight into the surrounding wilderness area, teaching you about the local flora and fauna. Just when you think you’re nearly back to the trailhead the Bear Lake Area Loop delivers again with spectacular views of Alberta Falls, a common destination for painters and photographers alike. If you’ve had your fill of alpine beauty, round out your guided trek by relaxing along the shores of Bear Lake.

Rocky Mountain National Park is known for incredible alpine and subalpine scenery and is a bucket list destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The park is home to some of the highest mountains in the continental United States, the continental divide, dramatic weather, and a wide range of plants and animals. Since it was designated a National Park by Woodrow Wilson in 1915, Rocky Mountain National Park has wowed visitors and remained a sanctuary for elk, bear, marmots, moose, and a plethora of other creatures. The highest peak in Rocky Mountain National Park is the world-famous Long’s Peak, at 14,259 ft tall it is the only “fourteener” in the park.
