Stand-up paddleboarding, also known as SUPing, stand up, or sometimes paddle boarding, is a new and fun water activity that has taken the world by storm. The sport grew as an offshoot of traditional wave surfing. Stand up paddlers use a board similar to a surfboard and a long paddle to move across the water while kneeling or standing upright. There are now boards designed for different types of water including flat water and moving rivers. SUPing can be difficult and paddling while standing upright is a full-body workout, but with a bit of trial and error and practice you will able to enjoy the unique perspective of “walking on water” while stand-up paddling. In Arizona, we offer beginner SUP tours and point-to-point river SUPing for more advanced paddlers.
