Rental Services

If renting a bike and meeting us at the trail is more convenient for you, opt for our trailhead bike delivery service! For a flat fee per group (starting at $95), we will meet you with your bikes, helmets, spare inner tubes, and a water bottle.

For bike rentals one day in duration or longer, the Adventure Center’s bike shop offers hotel delivery and pick-up in the Phoenix metro area is available for an additional fee. Advance notice is required. Please inquire for more information.

Staying in a vacation rental property? We deliver bikes or other rental gear to private residences by appointment. This service requires advance coordination with the REI Adventure Center team and the rental party must be available to receive the rental equipment at the arranged time.

Note

Trunk racks are not compatible with some cars with large spoilers or rear-mounted spare tires.

All of our bike rentals include standard flat pedals, however, our bike shop is happy to install your own pedals on any rental bike free of charge. We also offer a variety of pedal options should you need a pair.

We carry the following road and mountain bike pedals:

• Crank Brothers Egg Beaters
• Shimano SPD

Aero Bars Installation

$10 fee (also applies to personal bars)

We stock one pair of Bontrager Race Lite aero bars which we will happily install and remove for an additional fee of $10 upon request and pending availability.

Customers wishing to install their own aero bars on our rental bikes are responsible for checking compatibility (bar/clamp diameter, etc) on the bike manufacturers website or the “Specs” tab for each bike type on our website. They will be subject to a $10 installation fee.

$30 per hour; one hour minimum.

If you’ve checked out our Ride Planning Center and haven’t seen a route to suit you, ask our staff if they can provide you with alternative suggestions or we happily provide custom route design for a fee.

Includes .gpx file for your Garmin device or ours of a route to suit your mileage, start and end location(s), elevation change, waypoints.

We require the details of your desired route at least one week in advance. Our bike shop staff is always on hand to answer questions and help direct you to the best trails and road routes to suit your skill level.

Let us make your experience kayaking on the river even easier. River delivery and shuttle service is a pre-scheduled service available to our rental customers with advance reservation. We will meet you at a defined location on the Salt River with your rental equipment and 1 parking pass for your group’s car. An REI staff member will shuttle you from your take out location back to your car.

Book your rental kayak or SUP first and then inquire over the phone about river delivery and shuttle.

Upgrade to your rental includes delivery, Tonto permit (parking pass for one vehicle) & shuttle for your driver.
