Looking for an easy way to explore a piece of Arizona’s Black Canyon Trail? Make it simple and organize a shuttle through the REI Co-op’s Adventure Center in Scottsdale. The BCT is a local legend located a short distance north of the Phoenix metro area and is Arizona’s only trail to earn the “Epic” designation by the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA). The Black Canyon trail truly has it all from challenging climbs, exposed corners, and hairpin switchbacks to open and flowy singletrack traverses and rewarding descents, and don’t forget the landscape itself; giant saguaro cactus, blooming wildflowers, clawing thorn bushes, multiple river crossings, and two different climate zones. There’s no chance to get bored on the BCT, but be careful not to get in over your own head.

The Co-op’s Black Canyon Trail shuttle will take care of the your group’s logistics and make it easier to experience one of the best trails in Arizona’s rugged desert. While the Black Canyon Trail is challenging and recommended only for advanced riders, it is a trail like no other and one that all skilled mountain bikers should add to their bucketlist.
